“It’s official … Lil Salty Lark and Christina Savitsky won the Open Buckle with Sandy Benson and Lynx’s Colonel Reserve. The Amateur buckle winner is Nance McManus and Jolie with Ellen Schmickle and Gentleman Smoker Reserve. There were lots of mid even high 70’s scores for these teams and excellent, positive judges’ comments. We thank Ellen for driving from Arizona to participate and to Christina for leaving the ranch in Watrous. These ladies all did themselves proud and the scores for beautiful rides are an inspiration. Just a note…the Open buckle was won with 9 excellent Basic test rides and the AM buckle was a match of the masters each riding 9 tests at Intro Level to very high scores. We learned a lot about how to offer special awards and will be looking for opportunities to add some xtra rewards next year. Thanks to all who participated.

Don’t forget there is still a YOUTH award for 2019 waiting to be awarded. If there are any 18 and unders interested there are still at least 5 shows left in 2019 ….tests from any shows in NM in 2019 can be submitted.

Ok…to our Reserve champions for the Santa Fe Series, I have 2020 memberships with New Mexico Dressage Association for each of you. Congratulations Sandra Benson and Ellen Schmickle. Hope to see you at 2020 NMDA shows”

MANY THANKS TO THE SPONSORS OF THE AWARDS!! Thanks for bringing more awareness of Western Dressage in New Mexico! Well done to all!!

NEW MEXICO 2019 WDAA RECOGNIZED SHOWS

The WDAA has announced that its 2019 World Show will be adding another day so that all tests in each level will be offered. There will still be a whole day of rail classes for equitation and suitability. They also announced that the World Show will be held at the Lazy E in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Where else could we get all four rings under cover?
